Update – September 9, 2021:Update 11.18 is off to live servers! Check out the League of Legends patch 11.19 notes for what’s coming next.
League of Legends’ 2021 patch rollout keeps on, well, rollin’ out. We’ve got another new update to check out that’s just landed piping hot on the PBE. League of Legends patch 11.17 has flown off to live servers, and 11.18’s now landed on the MOBA game’s testing grounds – so, let’s see what’s coming up, shall we?
As you might have seen shared on Riot’s social media channels, the stars of this patch are the new skins for League’s metal band Pentakill – as well as its newest member. Following some cluesearlier this week, Viego, the Ruined King, has been revealed with his own Pentakill skin that has him shredding his gnarly signature sword like an axe – the musical kind, of course. Elsewhere, Karthus, Kayle, Mordekaiser, Olaf, Sona, and Yorick have got their own Pentakill III: Lost Chapter skins, in honour of the band’s new album of the same name, which drops in a couple weeks. We’ve also got a Hextech skin for Tristana in the mix this patch.
Now that the update’s been on the PBE a fair few days, we’ve got a pretty hearty batch of balance changes to check out, too, with Rengar, Dr. Mundo, Fizz, Lillia, and a whole raft of others seeingadjustments for 11.18. You can check out all these in the champion changes section below – and do keep checking back as more tweaks might arrive before the big day.
Without further ado, here’s our rundown of the tentative League of Legends patch 11.18 notes (cheers, Surrenderat20!):

Here’s Riot’s full patch preview:
11.18 Full Preview is here!
Reminder – this is a pro focused patch in anticipation of Worlds.
Relative to the preview, I corrected some champions as "adjustments" instead of buffs.
We also added Camille to the nerf list given the Renekton/Jayce nerfs favoring her in the meta. pic.twitter.com/qakPGkMKid

And here’s some context from lead game designer Jeevun Sidhu on a few of the changes coming:
Correction:
W
Healing 100 / 135 / 170 / 205 / 240 >>> 100 /130 / 160 / 190 / 220R
Removes Grievous Wounds on allies before healing them. https://t.co/tiy7Yk3DfC— Jeevun Sidhu (@JeevunSidhu) August 30, 2021
This is contrast to say, Aatrox, Vladimir, or Swain, who definitely care about healing but have a lot of healing-independent offensive outputs to give their team. (3/3)

Rengar Changes
Riot Phlox has posted details and context around some key changes coming to Rengar soon, but since these don’t have an exact shipping date yet, we’ve popped them here in their own section – so, bear in mind these are in testing on the PBE but might not drop with patch 11.18! Here’s the info:
The feedback you all gave me was that three max ferocity took a lot of what made Rengar special away. I agree. My goal with today’s version is to preserve that special bush feel but open up flexibility with your combos and fighting, and not punish poor sequencing as hard.

Having Rengar on PBE isn’t the kind of thing we’d normally do but I think it’s pretty worth it to give you all a glimpse of the kind of process champion changes go through firsthand, even if it takes me more time to do it all.

For projects like this we might try a lot of changes that really can’t ship for one reason or another. Maybe the mechanic is unbalanced, maybe it warps the character’s pattern in a weird way or hell, maybe the change just sucks. Don’t get too attached to anything on the PBE!

Do let me know what you think is good and what isn’t working! I really want feedback on these changes since there are a ton of different kinds of Rengar players and I don’t want to leave anyone out to dry. There’ll be a thread on /r/LeaguePBE but I’ll be looking all over.

It’s also not clear when she’ll come to the PBE, and she’s most likely not going to be dropping with 11.18, though presumably not long after. For now, here’s her champion spotlight video:
