Story

I was rescued from the Humane Society in Tacoma 3 years ago. I am 7 years old. I am looking for a reserved household where I can get lots of cuddles. I have lived with dogs and cats in the past and am not 100% opposed to it, but would prefer to be an only pet. I need lots of love and time from my future human. I can be anxious around new people, but I do warm up. I will warn you, I shed a lot and am too fat to clean myself, so will definitely need a little TLC.

Story

Hooligan is a 7 month old male domestic medium hair sweetheart kitty. His life started out rough and was found with his siblings at a school at 3 weeks old. They were taken in, bottle fed and raised together in a loving home. We adopted him at 8 weeks old and have kept him as an indoor cat. He gets along very well with our little dog and kids, loves to snuggle on our laps and enjoys playing with his kitty toys. He has only been an indoor cat but is very curious about going outside. We are rehoming him because we live on a busy street and am afraid that if he escapes, he will run in the street. Hooligan is a great kitty and is looking for a loving home.

Story

Minnow is a cat that needs to be in a quiet pet/small child free home. She was originally a rescue and we have been her second family for 2.5 years. We rescued a mama cat and kitten this past December and Minnow hasn't accepted them at all. She is a nervous cat that is scared of everything but will become attached to one person and be very sweet to them after much coaching and understanding.I want her to live the peaceful life that she craves and become the pampered house cat that I know she wants to become. She is very food motivated and loves to sit in the window and watch the world and hog the heat vents in the winter.

Story

Bruce is a sweet lazy cat that we would've named Garfield if it wasnt such a cliche. He mostly minds his own business and as long as he has somewhere comfy to sleep that's what he will do. He is not a picky eater and will eat anything given to him. We have loved him since we got him as a kitten and are heartbroken that we have to find him a new home as we are unable to give him the attention and room he needs.

How do you pick a friendliest kitten? ›

Ask to handle the kitten to assess how relaxed it is with people. Is it well socialised and friendly or is it scared? Spend a bit of time with it in case it is just initially a little wary of new people but soon adapts, or whether it just tries to hide away.

What is the youngest you should adopt a kitten? ›

At most shelters and rescues, kittens can be adopted starting at 8 weeks. Breeders will often wait until the kitten has been with their mother for at least 12 weeks, with many breeders waiting until 14 weeks. That's because there are many perks to sticking around their furry family members.

How do you know if a kitten will be a good cat? ›

Friendly kittens who interact with people without fear have the best chance to be a good pet. Outgoing kittens who respond to things like q tips, pieces of string, and small balls are a good bet. Responding to gentle rubbing and purring is another positive sign.

Is it OK to adopt one kitten? ›

A lonely cat can become neurotic and will sometimes let his/her owner know about their unhappiness by destructive behavior or inappropriate urination. This is not something most people would like to risk. MEOW will not place a single kitten under the age of six months into a home without an appropriate feline playmate.

Will a friendly kitten be a friendly cat? ›

While it's far from a guarantee, a cat's genetics and breed can affect how easily she can be socialized. Studies have found that kittens born to a friendly and affectionate cat often inherit that temperament.
